Unusual New Year’s Eve Date Ideas

Published December 31, 2010 by LoveGurus

Cruise the night away

Book a romantic cruise for New Year’s Eve and celebrate on deck with fellow travelers. This is a great way to meet new people or just spend time alone as a couple. Whether the cruise is for one night or a few, for Bermuda or your local waterway, a cruise is an unusual but very romantic way to spend New Year’s Eve.

Ski all night

Book a hotel room near a ski resort (unless you are lucky enough to live near one) and spend the night skiing. At midnight you can either gather with all the other night skiers in the club, or retire to your room for a private New Year’s celebration. (Try to get a room with a hot tub, so you can warm up and relax before pouring the champagne.) Celebrating New Year’s Eve on the slopes is certainly an unusual way to ring in the new year. If the two of you don’t ski, look for any other type of adventure that you do enjoy – ice skating, ball room dancing, even an indoor pool party. Odds are if you can imagine it, there is a New Year’s Eve event surrounding it.

Costume parties

Not just for Halloween anymore! Throw (or attend) a costume ball to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Go as a famous couple, or just in some fabulous costumes. The magic and mystery of a costume party will add to the fun of New Year’s Eve, and is certainly an unusual way to celebrate.

Balloon extravaganza

Purchase 200 balloons and place gift certificates for each other, as well as promises for the new year, small gifts, and just plain romantic love notes inside, then blow them up and fill your bedroom, dining room, wherever you feel like celebrating. (Purchase a small pump or rent a helium one – don’t try to manually inflate 200 balloons, unless your lung capacity is amazing.) At midnight, start popping! Unusual but lots of fun!

Leave town

Travel to a different city, one you have both always wanted to visit. Book a hotel room and spend the night on the town. The excitement of a new city will add to the overall excitement of your New Year’s celebration. You can go all out and jump on a flight to someplace exotic, or just drive a few hours to an exciting new city. No matter what you do, this unusual New Year’s Eve date is sure to be one to remember!

B&B Weekend Re-Treat !

Published December 29, 2010 by LoveGurus

Make it a bed and breakfast weekend.

If you and your mate have known each other for a while and feel comfortable on an intimate basis, try retreating to a small bed and breakfast in a remote and cozy area. This is an especially nice weekend date if the two of you have stressful jobs and little time for yourselves. Make it a lazy weekend and find that perfect special cottage for just the two of you. Your date will be able to feel relaxed and completely at ease with you. You will be amazed at how you will be able to talk about anything, and nothing at all, without the constant interruptions of your regular busy life at hand. Be sure to leave your work at home and turn off the cell phone. Devote all of your time to your sweetheart, because the weekend is short. During the day, try out quaint little restaurants and diners, go antiquing or check out the local shops. Enjoy the scenery outside of the city and most of all, enjoy each other. You can find a list of bed and breakfast inns near you at BedandBreakfast.com.

Fly to a Nearby City

Published December 29, 2010 by LoveGurus
Imagine telling your date that you are taking her/him to dinner at your favorite restaurant and then you end up pulling up to the airport.

The city should be close by, so that the flight is an hour at the most. Make sure you book the return flight for that very evening, do NOT book an overnight flight without telling her. A woman would likely assume that this is just a ploy to be able to sleep in the same room with her and the obligation for sex she might feel would be displeasing.

Also make sure you tell her as soon as you explain the whole date that you will be getting her home that evening. Can you imagine how your date will feel to know that you cared enough to fly her to dinner? Your date won’t be able to wait for the second date.

Tapas in New York

NEW YORK FIRST DATE
Met my date in grand central station, New York City. We had trouble finding each other but finally did, but experience left us tense and in “conflict mode”. This was first date but there was an instant and real chemical attraction.

We finally went into village and shared paella, sangria and lots of romance.
We went dancing till 3:00 am…. all the while beginning to build the chemical attraction into full physical attraction.

The early conflict left us thinking this wouldn’t be a good date; but surprisingly, as the night progressed, the sangria, succulent Spanish meal and flirtations…. dancing…. we ended the night in “well you can imagine” …the night was the start of a beautiful long term relationship that lead to marriage.

New York City under the stars, a hot summer night, great romantic Spanish restaurant in the village; great food, lots of sangria…candles and Spanish guitar…and then dancing…. ingredients for a great date!

Excellent 2nd Date

Published November 20, 2010 by LoveGurus

I was picked up by my date. It was our second date, so still new. She came with a present for me, and it was a new pair of pants a new shirt and a sweater. I changed, and she took me to a seaside restaurant. It was a new place and very romantic. The wine and dinner were excellent. She would not let me order dessert. She took me to a secluded beach where we had more wine and dessert that she brought and we watched the sunset. We then went to the pier arcade where I won some stuffed animals. I was her “hero: It was a perfect evening.
